I.P.R.
A Portuguese wine designation, roughly equivalent to French Vin de Pays, which can be translated as Controlled Indication of Origin. It is used for wines that, despite having specific characteristics, will have to comply, for a minimum period of 5 years, with all the rules established for the production of high quality wines so that they may eventually be classified as D.O.C (Controlled Appellation of Origin).
IVDP
The Portuguese designation for the Institute of Douro and Port Wine, the official organisation that regulates and controls the production and selling of Port Wine.
